Prof Navarra is a consultant Rheumatologist at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Hospital and St. Luke's Medical Center in the Philippines. Her main research interest is in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) where she has actively participated in various clinical trials and published widely in the field of lupus including the BLISS-52 belimumab study. As clinician and educator, she oversees the large UST Lupus Database, mentors several young colleagues in the clinical management while nurturing their research interest in lupus, and is a strong advocate for patient education and empowerment.
